Terminology library

The terms that decide what a document actually says

Deductibles

A deductible is the amount stated in a policy that a vehicle owner is responsible for before remaining covered costs are considered on a claim.

How the material is organized

Three things this site does, and nothing it does not

A glossary written for readers, not adjusters

Definitions for the terms that appear most often on vehicle coverage documents, written in plain words and cross referenced to the section of the document where each term shows up.

Optional text messages, entirely on your terms

Two separate message types with separate consent: account notifications about your own signup, and marketing messages about new guides. Neither one is required to read anything here.

FAQ

Questions people ask first

Does Drive Cover Digest sell insurance or provide quotes?

No. The site publishes reference material about vehicle coverage terminology. It does not sell products, generate quotes, compare carriers, or recommend providers, and it is not a carrier, agency, broker, or advisor.

Do I have to give a phone number to read the material?

No. Every glossary entry, guide and checklist is free to read with no signup. A phone number is only needed if you choose to receive text messages, and a phone number by itself is never treated as consent.

What text messages would I receive if I opt in?

Two separate types, each with its own unchecked box: account notifications about your signup and message preferences, and recurring marketing messages about new guides, glossary updates and site announcements.

How do I stop receiving messages?

Reply STOP to any message to cancel that message type, or reply HELP for program and contact information. Msg & data rates may apply.

Is my opt-in information shared with anyone?

No. Mobile opt-in data, SMS consent and phone numbers collected for SMS purposes are never sold, shared, rented, released or transferred to third parties for marketing, lead generation or promotional purposes.
